MotoGP Race Report

Marco Bezzecchi launched cleanly from pole to grab the holeshot ahead of Acosta, with Alex Márquez slotting into third.

The top three quickly broke away while drama unfolded further back. Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing) clashed with Enea Bastianini at turn five on the opening lap. Morbidelli ended up going down while Bastianini had to stop and free up his bars from the fairing of his KTM before he could get going again.

Joan Mir retired on lap two after showing promise early on.

Behind the lead trio, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was running fourth ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha), with Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Fermín Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Racing) close behind.

Aldeguer overtook Binder on Lap 6 and moved past Quartararo shortly after. Aldeguer then inherited fourth when Bagnaia crashed at Turn 10 on Lap 11. The fourth consecutive Sunday DNF saw Bagnaia’s chances for taking third place in the championship slip further from his grasp.

At the front, Bezzecchi steadily built a gap over Márquez, reaching a 2.2-second lead by Lap 15.

Acosta sat third, a further 2.4 seconds adrift but well clear of Aldeguer and Binder.

In the closing laps, Acosta found renewed pace, cutting Márquez’s advantage to one second with two laps to go. The Gresini rider responded on the final tour to hold firm, keeping second place by a narrow margin.

Márquez and Acosta completed the podium in second and third, respectively.

Bezzecchi’s win secured the Italian a comfortable margin in the race for third overall, while Bagnaia’s DNF all but ended his challenge for that position.
