2026 MIR Racing Aspar Cup

The MIR Racing Cup, Aspar Team, and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo will join forces to build what they are claiming will be the largest grassroots motorcycle championship in the world, expanding the Aspar Team’s commitment to rider development.

The alliance consolidates the MIR Racing Aspar Cup project, which offers young riders a genuine career ladder to MotoGP, in collaboration with the Aspar Team structure.

The championship, held entirely in Spain and already boasting riders from over 30 different nationalities registered across its Promo3, Moto5, GP12, GP10, Alevin90, and Minimoto categories, will now have a more solid structure thanks to the Aspar Team.

The move by Jorge Martínez “Aspar” strengthens his objective of guiding young motorcycle riders from the grassroots level to the World Championship.

His project, which began in 1999 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo with the Airtel Formula, later became the Cuna de Campeones (Cradle of Champions), a championship that helped dozens of riders fulfil their dream of reaching the World Championship.

With this alliance, the MIR Racing Cup, Aspar Team, and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo are aiming to reinvent the grassroots motorcycle racing model, creating synergies between their sporting, technical, and training structures. The three parties will seek to develop joint projects that will include training programs and new sporting initiatives linked to the championship.

As part of this new phase, the talent identification and promotion program will be strengthened. Riders will be evaluated not only on their on-track results but also on their technical progress, physical preparation, and competitive mindset.

Furthermore, the scholarship system will be maintained: the top finishers in each category will receive support that will allow them to continue their development at the higher levels of the championship at a reduced cost.

Daniel Antón – General Manager of the MIR Racing Cup

“Our goal has always been to offer real opportunities to riders. With this partnership, the dream of reaching MotoGP from the grassroots level is more alive than ever: this alliance with the Aspar Team and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo is the definitive step towards making that dream a reality. Together, we will build the largest grassroots motorcycle racing project in history, a platform that connects talent, training, and the future. We want every child who gets on a minibike to be able to imagine themselves one day on the MotoGP grid, and for that journey to be with us.”

Jorge Martínez – Aspar Team CEO

“Grassroots motorcycling is the heart of our sport. If we want to see new champions in the future, we must invest in their development from the ground. With the MIR Racing Cup and the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, we share the same vision: to create a real and accessible pathway from minibikes to the World Championship. This partnership will allow young riders to develop with structure, values, and clear objectives, within a professional environment that prepares them to reach the top.”

Bernardo Bonet – Specialized Center for Motor Sports Development/Circuit Ricardo Tormo

“The Circuit Ricardo Tormo has been promoting young riders for over 25 years. This is another step forward in continuing this effort to develop the future stars of motorcycling with the best partners, who have extensive experience in talent management. Together, we will help train the champions of tomorrow.”
