CFMOTO 1000MT-X
CFMOTO have pulled the covers off a new 1000 MT-X Adventure-Touring model, which also looks to bring a slightly higher level of specification to CFMOTO’s adventure range.

The engine is a parallel-twin, but instead of the 799 cc that powers the very successful 800 model, it is a 946 cc donk. Both the bore and stroke are approximately 5 mm larger on the new engine.

This new engine also runs a higher 13.5:1 compression ratio, up from 12.7:1 in the 800, which suggests that it will deliver its grunt with more urgency. On the raw numbers front, the figures jump from the 95 ponies of the 800 to 111 horsepower in the 1000 MT-X, both peak at 8500 rpm. The larger engine produces its 105 Nm torque peak at 6250 rpm, which is 500 rpm lower than the 800’s 87 Nm.

While the 800 runs J.Juan brakes and YU’AN suspension, the 1000 MT-X sports fully-adjustable KYB kit at both ends and reaches out to Brembo for its stoppers.

At 22.5 Litres, the fuel capacity is the same as the 800 and the 1000, and it also shares the off-road oriented 90/90-21 and 150/70-18 rubber sizes. Bosch provides the ABS and Traction Control systems for both.

The seat height is adjustable between 830 mm and 870 mm, in comparison to the fixed 870 mm of the 800 model. However, the quoted suspension travel figures are 40 mm lower with the low-seat version, which also corresponds to the suspension travel figures: 230 mm for the regular version, while opting for the low-seat version reduces that to a far less generous 190 mm.

Where CFMOTO quotes 240 mm of ground clearance for the 800, it hasn’t provided a clearance figure for the 1000. We presume it will be similar to the 240 mm of the 800 MT-X, with that figure dropping to 200 mm for the low-seat version.

CFMOTO also revealed a version dubbed the ‘1000 MT-X CRAFTED’ which benefits from raiding the catalogues from Acerbis, Givi and Akrapovic to take the up-sized value meal to a boxed dinner ready for the long haul.

CFMOTO Australia tell us that the 1000 MT-X should land here sometime in the second quarter of 2026. The ‘CRAFTED’ version above is, we believe, just acting as a canvas for what can be done with the platform and will not be offered as a model variant when we see the 1000 MT-X launched.
