2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 & Hypermotard V2 SP
Ducati’s Hypermotard has been sharpened for 2026, with the introduction of the new generation V2 engine helping the model achieve a 13 kg (14 kg on the SP) weight reduction, creating the brand’s lightest and most powerful Hypermotard yet.

At just 54.5 kg, the new 890 cc V2 engine is the lightest twin-cylinder ever produced by Ducati. A variable intake valve timing system helps it to produce 120 hp and 94 Nm of torque, 70 per cent of which is already available by 3000 rpm. The engine will rev past 11,000 rpm, and the new conventional valvetrain offers 45,000 km between valve clearance checks.

The monocoque frame also utilises the V2 engine as a structural element and mates up to a steel sub-frame. The aluminium swingarm is inspired by the hollow symmetrical swingarm first seen on the latest Panigale V4.

Kayaba provide the standard suspension, while the SP bumps that up to Öhlins suspenders, with NIX30 forks and an STX 46 shock. Either way, you’re getting a 46 mm fork with full adjustability, with the Kayaba shock only offering preload and rebound damping, compared to the Öhlins’ shock’s full adjustability. Sachs provides the steering damper for both.

The cast alloy wheels are upgraded to forged aluminium versions on the SP as well, shedding an additional 1.56 kg.

Brembo provide their M4.32 calipers matched to a PR18/19 radial master cylinder on the standard bike. That’s upgraded to M50 calipers on the SP, with a PR16/21 master-cylinder. Both versions feature 320 mm front rotors.

A six-axis IMU is used to inform the Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control, with your modes: Race, Sport, Road and Wet. The ABS offers four modes, two track-oriented, one of which integrates Slide by Brake functionality.

A five-inch TFT offers three modes and is controlled via a new petal joystick. It automatically switches between day and night views. Road and Road Pro display modes show your regular road information, while Track mode strips the display down to the essentials, as well as rider aid intervention in real-time. Both bikes are Ducati Multimedia System ready.

Ducati Quickshift 2.0 is fitted to both models while the SP also scores Ducati Power Launch and Pit Limiter functionality. Other SP specific features include a lithium battery.

The Hypermotard V2 weighs in at 180 kg without fuel, the addition of which would bump it just past 189 kg, while the Hypermotard V2 SP weighs just 177 kg without fuel.

Also new is the LED headlight with DRL in double C profile, designed to mirror the look of the Hypermotard 698 Mono, with self-cancelling indicators also standard.

The riding position has also been revamped over the Hypermotard 950, with the footpegs moved forward, while the bars have also been moved forward, in the aim of enabling the rider to put more load on the front end for greater stability. Seat height on both models is 880 mm.

A range of accessories will also be available, with the Termignoni full racing system likely to be highly coveted due to its titanium sleeves and carbon end caps, as well as a 4.5 kg weight saving and a performance boost of an extra four horsepower and five newton-metres of torque. Homologated Termignoni mufflers are also available, but only reduce weight by 0.5 kg.

The 2026 Hypermotard V2 will be available in Ducati Red, starting at $26,800 ride-away. The Hypermotard V2 SP will feature a special livery and be priced from $32,900 ride-away, with both models expected to arrive in Australian dealers in October 2026.
