Update on Noah Dettwiler’s condition
Noah Dettwiler’s health condition has improved so positively over the past few days that the treating physicians in Kuala Lumpur have given the green light for his repatriation to Switzerland.
Wednesday, a team from the Swiss Air-Rescue Rega visited Noah at the hospital in Kuala Lumpur to discuss and plan the details of his medical transport back home.
The flight is scheduled for today, Thursday, and Noah is expected to land in Zurich late in the evening. From there, he will be taken directly to a hospital where he will undergo the pending surgery on his leg. The rehabilitation phase will follow this.
Noah’s family will also be able to begin their return journey from Kuala Lumpur to Switzerland on Thursday evening.
The entire family, as well as the team, are overjoyed about this positive development and grateful for the excellent medical care in Malaysia.

Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler was in a serious crash with rider Jose Antonio Rueda during the sighting lap before the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. Dettwiler sustained critical injuries, including multiple cardiac arrests, spleen and lung injuries, and a leg injury, requiring multiple surgeries.
2025 Moto3 World Champion Jose Antonio Rueda was also involved in the clash and suffered a cardiac arrest immediately after the incident, but was not injured as seriously as Dettwiler. Early concerns surrounded bruising to his lungs and ribs that might cause complications, but after being stabilised, Rueda was cleared to return to Spain, where he landed early last Friday morning. An MRI scan revealed a small fracture on his scapula. However, surgery won’t be necessary to correct the shoulder injury. Rueda underwent surgery on his right hand last Monday with plates inserted into the thumb and the third and fourth metacarpals of the right hand, as well as the base of the radius.
